A WOMAN fears identity thieves could have her personal information after a mistake at County Hall.
Carolyn Rix made a claim to Essex County Council back in November after tripping over on a pavement in her hometown of Brightlingsea.
The mum-of-six received a letter saying her claim was being processed but also came with a 15-page bundle about a woman from Billericay, prompting concerns a similar document with her details was somewhere in Essex.
An Essex County Council spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for this data breach. It was a one-off human error which has been fully investigated.
“We would like to reassure all customers incidents like this are extremely rare and we take all possible steps to ensure their personal information is safe.”
