EDIBLE art was on the menu at Colchester’s Firstsite gallery when chef Charlie Stocker gave visitors a taste of food foraging.
Charlie, who recently opened a pop-up restaurant in the waiting room of Colchester bus station, was the guest at the gallery’s Free Family Saturday.
The former MasterChef contestant wowed visitors with a food foraging masterclass. He is a big fan of using sea plants picked up from the coastline and created a salad inspired by artist Agnes Denes’s exhibition, which is on show at the gallery.
Firstsite spokesman Judith Merritt said: “It was brilliant to see Charlie working with families to show how local food production can have such a positive and healthy outcome – and taste delicious as well.”
