More than 100 residents have signed a petition telling Tendring Council to stay away from the Colchester border.
The row over Tendring Council’s plans to build thousands of homes on the Colchester border is hotting up, with Colchester MP Bob Russell also backing the cause.
The ‘West Tendring’ site, earmarked for development after 2024, includes land off St Andrew’s Avenue, where 3,000 homes could be built, and the extension of the Plains Farm estate.
Joseph Turner, 66, of Longridge, Colchester, decided to start a petition against the plans after hearing people were having problems commenting on Tendring Council’s website.
He collected about 120 signatures in a day and a half and drove to Tendring to personally hand the petition on Tuesday, when the consultation ended.
