A REPLACEMENT bench has been installed in green space near to a housing estate.
Colchester Council was forced to remove an 30-year-old bench, in Dunthorne Road, in Colchester, in February, after it fell apart.
But on Friday, the replacement, previously used in Boadicea Way, was installed with the help of Paul Smith and Ray Gamble, borough councillors for St John’s.
Mr Smith said: “It is great that the council is looking to re-use benches and I would praise the work that the zone team has done in repainting and repositioning it.”
The previous bench was mostly used by ramblers on walks around Parsons Heath.
