COLCHESTER is the sixth best town in the country for commuting to London a new survey suggests.
Quality of life factors. such as the quality of local schools and property prices were taken into account, balanced against the cost of daily travel to the capital.
A commuter season ticket from Colchester to London costs about around £4,800 a year, while the average home costs £297,575.
The borough has nine private schools, Ofsted rates 79 per cent of its state schools “good”
or better, according to Garrington Property Finders.
