ESSEX Highways had to make emergency repairs after a sinkhole opened in Colchester.
The sinkhole was in road surface between East Hill and Ipswich Road.
The site was made safe quickly and Essex Highways said a full road repair would be carried out tomorrow.
They apologised for the delay, saying the sink hole was caused over time by a broken drain pipe.
