A BUSY street in Colchester has been shut after a sinkhole appeared in the road.
Essex Police closed Beaconsfield Avenue at around 6pm on Sunday after noticing the huge sinkhole in the carriageway.
Essex Highways have been made aware and are working with Essex Police to fix the issue.
The road is shut from Maldon Road to Le Cateau Road so drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
Essex Highways has been contacted for comment.
