The A12 has reopened after a HGV burst into flames.
The northbound carriageway was closed between junctions 27 and 28 at Colchester today(Saturday, January 9) for nearly three hours to allow firefighters to deal with the incident.
Queues quickly formed back to junction 25 at Marks Tey and the closure also led to heavy traffic throughout Colchester as motorists looked to avoid the incident.
The road was eventually reopened around 3pm.
Essex Fire Service has been contacted for comment.
