POLICE had to shut the A12 at Colchester whilst the fire service tackled a vehicle blaze.
The A12 was shut northbound between junction 27 and 28, for Colchester United's stadium, on Thursday evening.
Fire crews attended and were able to quickly put out the blaze.
The vehicle was recovered and all lanes reopened at about 10pm.
