AN investigation is taking place after a car and a caravan with gas cylinders inside caught fire on a driveway.
Firefighters attended the scene in Gilderdale Close, Colchester shortly before 2am today after the fire had began to spread to a house.
The crews from Wivenhoe, Manningtree and Clacton worked to prevent the property catching fire as both the car and the caravan were 100 per cent alight.
They managed to extinguish the blaze shortly before 2.45am and worked to cool the cylinders.
Essex Police has now confirmed nobody was injured during the incident.

A spokesman said: "Alongside colleagues in Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, we were called to reports of a fire in Gilderdale Close, Colchester, shortly before 1.55am this morning.
"We arrived and found the fire had destroyed two vehicles. Thankfully no injuries were reported."
An investigation into the cause of the fire will take place today.
