Milksha bubble tea official Colchester opening date

Milksha, a Taiwanese bubble tea and milkshake giant with more than 350 stores around the world, has revealed when its UK headquarters based in Colchester will open. 

Residents will be treated to an exciting ceremonious launch event at 1pm on Saturday, May 13.

Visitors can enjoy a traditional Taiwanese dragon dance, to bring good luck to the venue, followed by a ribbon cutting to officially open the store.

The first 100 customers will also receive half price drinks and a free Milksha cup holder.

The Colchester site will feature Milksha’s research and development lab for the UK.

The Colchester Milksha store will open in one of the oldest sites in Colchester, on Head Street, which dates back to 1698. 

The site was formally a bakery.

Founded by a dairy farmer from Southern Taiwan, Milksha has aimed to stay close to its roots, priding itself on offering premium bubble tea in unique, customisable flavours, with fresh milk.

The menu will be divided into several categories, meaning even those who try bubble tea for the first time can navigate the wide selection of treats on offer.

Those who don’t like dairy can also enjoy a wide variety of fruit and specialty drinks, such as strawberry green tea or lemon black tea, those who are looking for something more indulgent can enjoy the frothy cloudy cream teas, whipped freshly in store.

A fully customised service allows for the addition of fresh toppings to any beverage, either hot or cold, including adjusting the levels of ice and sugar to taste.

The venue’s bakery will offer Colchester residents fresh, hand-crafted cakes, all baked from scratch, as well as Japanese inspired ice-cream, such as miso caramel and chocolate Uzumaki.
