A CAR burst into flames in Colchester, prompting firefighters and police officers to rush to the scene.
Emergency services were called to Greenstead Road at about 7pm on April 10 after a silver Vauxhall caught light.
The car was parked near Screwfix at the Davey Close Trade Park located between the Hythe Tesco superstore and the city centre.
Pictures of the incident show bright flames engulfing the vehicle which, according to firefighters, was half alight when they arrived at the scene.
A spokesman for the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to a car fire in Greenstead Road, Colchester at 7.06pm on Wednesday, April 10.
“On arrival, crews reported a car was 50 per cent alight and worked to extinguish the fire by 7:30pm. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
Thankfully there has been no reports of casualties or injuries as a result of the blaze.
The latest car fire came the day after a vehicle erupted into flames on the A12 near Colchester.
Firefighters were called to the emergency between Colchester United and the Avenue of Remembrance on April 9.
