AN unfortunate mutt had to pay an unexpected visit to the vets when a takeaway menu became stuck to its mouth.
The menu, from Roosters takeaway in Colchester High Street, offers “mouthwatering results” for those who try its chicken.
However, this might not have been what Cymbeline, a scottish terrier belonging to Kimberly Fisher, had in mind when he picked it up from the front door of her Barrington Road home.
She said the dog had been trained to bring it to her rather than chew it up.
“Cymbeline brought me the post, but could not set down the Roosters menu when he dropped the rest of the post,” she said.
“This distressed him, and he pawed at his mouth.
“I tried to help, but within seconds the menu had glued his jaws shut.
“I had to take him to the Colne Valley Veterinary Practice, and the staff there spent over 20 minutes unsticking the menu and releasing his jaws.”
