A WOMAN who disappeared on a night out in Colchester woke up hours later in a strange flat – but has no recollection of how she got there.
She had been out with her boyfriend in the town when they became separated at the Fashion Cafe in Queen Street.
Hours later, the woman, who is in her late twenties, awoke alone at a flat in East Hill.
Detectives from Colchester are trying to work out how the woman got to the flat and whether she was alone.
They have not ruled out her drink may have been spiked, but are investigating all possibilities.
They have appealed for anyone who was in the town on Monday night and saw the woman to help explain what happened.
Det Sgt Mark Merry said: “We are trying to establish what happened to the woman and how she managed to get from the Fashion Cafe to a flat half a mile away.
“She became separated from her boyfriend when he went out of the Fashion Cafe for a cigarette.
“It seems she wandered off but has no recollections until she woke up in the flat at East Hill.”
The woman is described as white, about 5ft 3ins, slim and with dark, straight, shoulder-length hair.
She was wearing a black, three-quarter length felt coat, black top with white spots, black pencil skirt, black shoes and tights.
Anyone who saw her between midnight on Monday and the early hours of Tuesday should call Det Sgt Merry on 0300 3334444.
