A FAST-FOOD manager has described how he was attacked by two women over a row about payment.
Carley Fletcher, 30, of Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, admitted biting Abdul Razak at the Big Man’s Fish ’n’ Grill, in High Street, Colchester.
Her pal Shanice Baker, 22, of Minerva End, Colchester, admitted using threatening, abusive and insulting words during the drunken scuffle.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard the women refused to pay for food and attacked Mr Razak when he told them to give the food back.
The pair have been banned from every pub, club and fast-food outlet in the town after the incident on January 13.
Speaking after the court hearing, Mr Razak said: “I told them if they had no money, they could have no food, and they started throwing things at me.
“They started throwing their own things and then the salt and vinegar from the counter.
“They started coming over the counter and the till went over and all the coins were on the floor.”
Mr Razak said he had experienced trouble “every now and then”, but this incident was particularly violent.
He added: “Some people just drink too much and can’t control themselves, but mostly young people are good.
“I worked in London for six years and have now been in Colchester six years and, on the whole, the people of Colchester are very good.”
District Judge David Cooper told Fletcher and Baker their behaviour was foul. He said: “They made a real drama out of the whole thing and threw things, and he was bitten on the arm.”
Laura Austen, mitigating, said the pair had been friends for two years and both suffered with mental heath problems.
She added: “They readily accept they had been out drinking, there was a disturbance in this fish and chip shop and they are sorry for their involvement.
“Miss Baker had blood around her mouth as she was assaulted and took a full punch to the face.”
Ms Austen said Baker would be looking to make a complaint about the incident.
Judge Cooper said: “Trying to turn themselves into victims after their behaviour does not cheer me up.”
He banned the pair from every pub, club and fast-food restaurant in the town centre for four months.
They were also handed a six-month community order, which means they will be electronically tagged and given a curfew between 10pm and 6am.
They were also ordered to pay £85 costs, and Fletcher was ordered to pay Mr Razak £100 compensation.
