CHARITY workers will have the best seat in the house for the Queen's 90th birthday bash after being invited to attend a parade and patron's lunch.
Representatives from Lepra, based at Middlebrough, Colchester, will be attending Queen Elizabeth's official celebrations this weekend.
As well as being part of the largest ever street party on The Mall in London on Sunday, the charity which works in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique tackling neglected diseases, they will feature in a special film set to be filmed to the masses.
More than 600 organisations across the country have been invited to take part in the celebrations, which also features a parade, but just ten will feature in the special video.
The Queen is a patron of the charity, which takes on innovative work in disease control.
Chief executive Sarah Nancollas said they were ecstatic to be asked to attend.
She said: "We are delighted to be taking part in this iconic event.
"The Queen’s patronage is very important to us and to be invited to the event and to feature in the parade is a wonderful way to honour Her Majesty’s unwavering support of Lepra."
