A firm is moving out of Braintree with a loss of 140 jobs to the town.
Travel insurance company InsureandGo Insurance Services has confirmed it is to close its offices at Warners Mill in Silks Way, Braintree.
The company, which was the first in the country to offer insurance cover against terror acts, will move to Southend before the end of July.
Employees are currently undergoing individual consultations and all are being offered the opportunity to join the 100 staff in the Southend office.
The company said the reasons for the move are that it cannot find suitable employees in Braintree and an application to renovate the Silks Museum to expand its offices was refused by the council.
