GRAN Sue Dawson wanted to do something special when she turned 60.
Her friends and family told her she was mad when she revealed she intended to donate a kidney.
But Sue insisted she was privileged to be able to help give someone the chance of a normal life.
Two years after signing up as a donor, her healthy keft kidney was removed in a four hour operation.
It was whisked to another hospital, where an operation for an anonymous recipient was a success.
Sue, 62, of Brinkley Crescent, Colchester, said: "Whoever it is, it is going to make their Christmas.
"They can have a life."
