KARL Duguid has re-signed for Stanway Rovers.
The former Colchester United star was back in their starting line-up for tonight’s Thurlow Nunn League premier division clash at home to Hadleigh United.
However, he was powerless to prevent his side slipping to a 3-1 defeat.
Hadleigh netted either side of the break, with their second coming from the penalty spot.
Craig Hughes pulled one back but the visitors then scored again.
Stanway had been undefeated in their previous 16 league matches, with their last setback coming at home to Godmanchester Rovers way back on October 11.
Losing was a therefore a major blow but the big positive of the day was news of Duguid’s return.
The ex-U’s star, who also played for Plymouth Argyle, first joined Stanway in October but left for Conference Premier side Welling United in January.
He will now be hoping to help Rovers claim second spot in the Thurlow Nunn League – a position they currently occupy – and gain promotion to the Ryman League.
