Jamie Harney has left Colchester United after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
The 20-year-old centre-back, who only signed a new one-year deal with the U's in July, is now looking for a new club after departing the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Harney joined Colchester from West Ham United at the end of 2014, initially on a youth loan deal having featured for them in their Essex Senior Cup match at Concord Rangers.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international made his senior debut for them as a substitute in their League One defeat at MK Dons in November, 2014.
Harney signed an 18-month contract with Colchester in January 2015 after leaving the Hammers and made four League One appearances for them, last season.
He penned a new one-year deal this summer but has found his first-team opportunities few and far between and has now left the club.
