Colchester United have confirmed that Tarique Fosu has signed a loan extension that will keep him with the U’s until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old winger has been on loan with Colchester from Championship side Reading since the end of August, but that deal expired on January 7.
However, the clubs have now agreed an extension that will allow him to stay in north Essex until the end of the season.
Fosu has made 15 appearances for John McGreal’s side so far this season.
As well as a number of assists from the wide areas for the U’s, he has contributed three goals, in the league against Barnet and Stevenage and in the FA Cup against Chesterfield.
All the paperwork for his loan extension was completed on Thursday morning and he should be in contention for a place in Saturday’s game at Newport, subject to clearance from the relevant authorities.
