Goalkeeper Bailey Vose says he can't wait for the new season to start after agreeing to sign for Colchester United on a two-year deal from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 20-year-old has become the U's second summer signing, following Harry Pell in joining John McGreal's side for the 2018-19 season after signing for an undisclosed fee.
With out-of-contract Sam Walker set to move onto pastures new, Vose is likely to battle it out for the U's number one shirt with Dillon Barnes, next season.
Vose tweeted: "I’m really excited to be joining Colchester United, looking forward to meeting the players, staff and fans. Can’t wait for the new season to start."
Vose progressed through the youth ranks at Brighton, signing professional terms in June, 2016.
Although he has not made a senior appearance for the Seagulls, he has played for their under-23 side a number of times and has had loan spells at Concord Rangers, Dartford, Welling and Eastbourne Borough.
Brighton Under-23s coach Simon Rusk said: "This move is one that makes sense for Bailey at this stage of his career. He's got good experience this season out on loan and that will stand him in good stead."
Vose will be a Colchester player from July 1, subject to the relevant paperwork being signed.
