Freddie Sears has said he has no complaints about his recent lack of game time at Colchester United.
And the on-loan West Ham United youngster is happy to prolong his stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Sears, 22, has committed himself to the U’s until the end of the season, after both clubs provisionally agreed on a loan extension.
The Hammers striker has started three times for John Ward’s side - and is hungry for more game time at Colchester.
Sears said: “I'm happy to stay - that’s something I’ve intended to do since I signed and it’s just a case of waiting for something to be sorted out.
“It’s been really good here and the boys are on fire at the moment.
“The only disappointing factor for me is that I haven’t started more games than I have.
“But I can’t have any complaints, because the boys are flying.
“I’m just biding my time and waiting to get another chance.
“I want to be playing but when the boys are doing so well, you’d kind of happy just to be involved around the team.
“The partnership between Steven Gillespie and Kayode Odejayi has been good and we’re winning games.
“You just have to bide your time and see what happens and wait until you’re called upon.”
