Colchester United reserves edged closer to the Football Combination northern section title this afternoon with a 2-1 win over Oxford United.
Goals from Freddie Ladapo and Drey Wright were on target for Richard Hall's side at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Tyrone Marsh netted Oxford's consolation goal with a deflected strike.
Colchester fielded a mixture of youth and experience in their side, with the likes of Matt Heath, Ashley Vincent and John-Joe O'Toole all featuring alongside youngsters such as Tom Aldred and Jordan Sanderson.
Colchester reserves now need only a single point from their final game against Luton Town next Tuesday to secure the title.
