IPSWICH Town’s reserves enjoyed a goal spree in front of a bumper crowd at FC Clacton.
The Blues helped attract a gate of more than 450 for the friendly on Thursday - a testimonial for long-serving Seasiders skipper Paul Hillier.
Town manager Roy Keane was there until half-time, by which time his young side were leading 6-1.
Clacton took the lead in the second minute when Hillier’s effort was turned into his own net by Tom Eastman.
But Town rallied with goals from Shane O’Conner (two), Jaime Peters, Ed Upson (penalty), Kevin Lisbie and Reggie Lambe.
Clacton pulled one back after the break when Kevin Coyle converted from the spot, before David Cawley made it 7-2.
