(B1026 Wigborough Road/Layer Road, Layer-de-la-Haye)
(Temporary 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 2012
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulations Act 1984
Effect of the order: To temporarily reduce the speed limit to 40mph speed limit on that length of B1026 Wigborough Road/Layer Road in the Parish of Layer-de-la-Haye in the Borough
of Colchester from its junction with Waterworks Close (the start of the existing 30MPH speed limit) southwards to a point 400 metres south of the existing access to Billets Farm.
The temporary speed limit is scheduled to commence 12 March 2012 for 18 months or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, and is required for the safety of the work force and
public to facilitate the reconstruction of the B1026 across The Causeway at Abberton Reservoir.
The Order will come into effect on 12 March 2012 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Birch Park Bridge, Birch) (6 Ft 6" Width Limit) Order 2012 &
(Birch Park Bridge, Birch) (3 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2012
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Orders under Sections 1-4, Part Ill and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.
Effect of the orders:
1. To prohibit any vehicle exceeding 6 Ft 6" (1.98 metres) in width, to proceed on the following length of Birch Park Bridge, Birch in the Borough of Colchester, from a point 75 metres south east
of the south eastern boundary of Orchard Cottage in a south easterly direction for a distance of 105 metres.
2. To introduce a 3 tonne weight restriction on the following length of Birch Park Bridge, Birch in the Borough of Colchester, from a point 75 metres south east of the south eastern boundary of
Orchard Cottage in a south easterly direction for a distance of 105 metres.
The existing 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction on Birch Park Bridge, Birch in the Borough of Colchester is hereby revoked.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 19 March 2012.
Further details: A copy of the Order and plans may be examined during normal office hours at County Hall, Chelmsford CM1 1LX.
Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks
from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Footpath No.29, Stanway) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2012
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: to temporarily close that length of Footpath No.29, Stanway in the Borough of Colchester, for a distance of 20 metres either side of the footpath crossing. The
closure is scheduled to commence on 1 March 2012 for 1 night between the hours of 01:00h and 04:55h or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while tamping works are undertaken by Network Rail.
The Order will come into effect on 1 March 2012 and may continue in force for 6 months, or until the works are finished, whichever is the earlier.
