Tendring District Council The Local Government Act 2000 The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011 Notice of Verification Number

In accordance with Section 34 of the Local Government Act 2000 and Regulations 4 and 5 of The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011, I, the Proper Officer of Tendring District Council, have published 5495 as the number that is equal to 5% of the number of local government electors shown in the revised register of electors for the Tendring District Council’s area, having effect on the 15th February 2014. This figure will have effect for the purposes of determining the validity of petitions presented during the period 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015, which seek a referendum on whether there should be a change to a different form of governance. The number equal to 5% of the local government electors for 2015 will be published within 14 days of the 15th February 2015. If this number is less than 5495, the number to be used for verification purposes in relation to any petition submitted for the period beginning on the date of publication of the lower number until 31st March 2015 shall also be that lower number.
