NOTICE OF ISSUE-SPECIFIC, COMPULSORY ACQUISITION OPEN FLOOR AND SECTION 127 HEARINGS in relation to THE PROPOSED GALLOPER WIND FARM ORDER

NOTICE OF ISSUE-SPECIFIC, COMPULSORY ACQUISITION OPEN FLOOR AND SECTION 127 HEARINGS in relation to THE PROPOSED GALLOPER WIND FARM ORDER
Sections 91, 92, 93 and 127 Planning Act 2008 and Rule 13(6) Infrastructure Planning (Examination Procedure) Rules 2010
Application Reference: EN010003

Notice is hereby given that the following issue-specific, compulsory acquisition and open floor hearings will be held by the Examining Authority for the examination of the application by Galloper Wind Farm Ltd (GWFL) for a development consent order for the proposed Galloper Wind Farm. The application was made under sections 14, 15, 16 and 37 of the Planning Act 2008 on 21 November 2011 and accepted for examination by the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) on 19 December 2011. The IPC was abolished as from 1 April 2012. Three Examining Inspectors from the Planning Inspectorate have been appointed under the Planning Act 2008 to examine the application and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change. These hearings form part ofthis Examination.
Notice is also given that a section 127 hearing shall be held by the Examining Authority to consider whether a certificate should be issued for the compulsory acquisition of statutory undertakers' land within the development consent order. GWFL seeks authorisation to construct and operate the proposed Galloper Offshore Wind Farm, which comprises up to 140 offshore wind turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 504MW and associated onshore and offshore infrastructure (the Project). The proposed development would be constructed approximately 27km off the Suffolk coast near to the now constructed Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm (GGOWF); partly within English territorial waters, mostly within the adjacent Renewable Energy Zone. The export cables from the turbines would be brought to shore at Sizewell just south of Coastguard Cottages.
The Project includes underwater cabling to connect the turbines together and to export the electricitygenerated to a proposed newsubstation atSizewell Wents (including newdown leads and associated infrastructure to connectthe wind farm into existing 400kV overhead circuits), approximately 1km inland from the Suffolk coast and close to the GGOWF substation already constructed atSizewell Wents.
The hearings will be held on the following dates, at the times and locations indicated below. Registration for all hearings takes place 30 minutes prior to the start time set out below:
