A brand-new production, ART, starring award-winning comedian and TV actors is coming to Colchester’s Mercury Theatre next month, as part of a UK tour.
Described as ‘fiendishly clever’ and ‘hilariously funny’, Yasmina Reza’s ART is a ‘razor sharp’ exploration of art, love and friendship.
The play will star award-winning comedian Seann Walsh, TV’s Call the Midwife and Coronation Street star Chris Harper, The Crown and The House of Elliot actor, Aden Gillet and Iqbal Khan from the National Theatre and Othello.
The play sees a ‘simple purchase of contemporary art’ ignite a ‘hilarious’ debate amongst three close friends – beginning as a light-hearted discussion, and quickly evolving into a ‘riotous’ exploration of the ‘blurred lines’ between art and reality.
The play, ART, has won multiple awards, including Best Comedy at the Olivier Awards, Tony Awards and Moliere Awards.
Presented by Joshua Beaumont and Original Theatre, ART will feature at the Mercury Theatre from September 17 to 21.
