LETTER by Brian Stafford, via email
TAKING onboard Sir Bob Russell comments (Gazette Letters, October 20, “Put a levy on these out-of-town malls”) and that the Marks and Spencer’s move is a fait accompli, then it would seem logical and desirable that there should be more bus services to the Stane Park shopping mall for those unable to use a car.
This does not at present seem to be forthcoming.
I note at present there are perhaps only one or two local routes serving the area?
Since the Marks & Spencer move, as he indicates, the volume of traffic and parking in the area has increased remarkably, so the use of buses would seem sensible and serve two purposes by cutting down on parking and volume of traffic.
Perhaps the proposed out-oftown shopping levies could go towards the cost of these bus services.
