KIND-HEARTED employees at a supermarket have created a mini trolley for a little girl with cerebral palsy to help her build strength while walking.

Kirsty Stephens, who is a Morrisons community champion, surprised Elsie Besant, seven, with the personalised trolley.

Elsie suffers from epilepsy and cerebral palsy and uses a walker to get her about.

Kirsty has been in regular contact with Elsie's mum Marie and decided to do something to help make her life a bit easier.

Kirsty said: “I was contacted by our regular customer, Marie who is the mother to seven-year-old Elsie.

“She asked if there was any way she could buy one of our kids trolleys for her daughter.

“She explained that Elsie has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and likes to keep her strength up by using her walker and that our kids trolley fits her walker perfectly.

“After receiving this email, I was determined to see if there was any way Morrisons would gift a trolley to this beautiful little shopper of ours.”

She said: “To my delight and after a few days of waiting, I received the amazing news that Morrisons would gift Elsie with her very own Morrisons trolley.

“It's things and moments like this that I love about my job role.

“I was so excited to meet Elsie and her mother, and gift Elsie with her very own new trolley on Children In Need Day.

“Her smile alone was worth it - one very happy little girl.

“Morrisons and I would like to wish Elsie many more happy shopping experiences with us - and with her new trolley.”

Marie said: "We're regular customers at Morrisons and they have these wonderful little trolleys.

"Elsie goes to shops with her walkers and pushes the trolley around.

"It's difficult to find her gifts and things to use at home so we were looking to find a similar trolley but we couldn't seem to find one anywhere.

"After reaching out, Kirsty immediately got back to me and said she'd see what she could do.

"A few days later she told us that Morrison's would like to gift Elsie a trolley, which was really cool.

"Elsie loves the trolley, she has very own trolley to use at home and in store.

"She loves it so much that we have to hold on to it all the time!

"It will really help with her hidden physio and bring her arms into mid line so that she can push and walk at the same time.

"We're so very grateful for the support."
