REES Joan Irene 05.10.1926 - 16.02.2023 Passed away peacefully at Stanway Green Lodge on 16th February 2023, aged 96. Funeral service, to celebrate her life, at Colchester Crematorium on Friday 31st March 2023, at 11.00am. Joan Rees was my Deputy running the new campus for The Gilberd Highwoods. She joined us when Essex was being reorganized and I had to have an experienced Deputy-Head to run the Highwoods site. She soon showed her prowess I was Pleased to basically hand over the running of the new site while I closed down the old. She did a great job, the Highwoods site was "her's". Her retirement brought closure to the reorganization and the pre-Highwoods episode. She was professional to the last. I was so fortunate to have worked with her. She had definitely earned her retirement.
