HALL Raymond Ernest Charles Sadly passed away on 21st August 2023, aged 85 years. Much loved Husband to Irene, Father to Sonia, Stephen and Belinda and a dear Grandad. A private family burial will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at Wivenhoe Sailing Club on 11th September 2023, from 1.30pm where all are welcome. Ray was a longtime Family friend.
I had my first motorbike trip on his Triumph Tigercub aged 13 looking for lost WODs in the Manningtree area.
The Family had fun times on the "Blue Tango", Ray's cabin boat in the early day's.
I sailed on his BOD, Black Shadow, many times.
Once he came to stay with Laureen and me in Formby with David Pettitt looking for a cruiser and found one at Conwy (Le Gamba)
Also he sailed with us on our Star, Juno, through the Menai Strait.
Happy memories, and now sadly missed. RIP Ray -John,Laureen and Sarah Laing
