BLIZZARDS have caused traffic chaos in Colchester.
Drivers were faced with gridlock on Tuesday morning after snow fell overnight.
Many faced problems getting to work, with roads linking up to the A12 the worst hit for traffic.
Ipswich Road, Clingoe Hill and Hythe Hill were all badly affected.
A four vehicle accident on the A12 at the Kelvedon Bypass, heading towards Colchester, caused major delays at just after 8am.
The northbound exit slip road at the Ardleigh Crown was closed around 8.45am because of an accident.
Delays hampered drivers on Lexden Road, Colchester, following another accident there at around 8.30am.
Police said there had been a number of minor shunts and bumps and asked motorists to take care.
No schools were reported to be closed.
