A DISABLED woman claims she will be left hundreds of pounds out of pocket after becoming a victim of the new “bedroom tax”.
Rules which came into force on Monday, April 1, mean Rose Ketley, 58, is being charged for bedrooms she doesn’t use - even though there is nowhere smaller for her to live.
The so-called bedroom tax will leave her having to stump up a massive £1,352 a year extra for her three-bedroom home in Stourview Close, Mistley, after finding herself in an impossible “Catch 22” situation.
Tendring Council says there are no suitable properties because of Rose’s disability.
But the Government’s new rules on social housing mean she must now find an extra £26 a week to live in a house she doesn’t even want to be in.
