A report on Ageing Well suggests Essex County Council should consider providing a self-referral programme for elderly motorists.
The report has been drawn up by the council’s Community and Older People Policy and Scrutiny Committee, who say the county council’s new public health role means it could set up the programme along with opticians in Essex.
It is due to be debated by the committee during a meeting on Thursday.
