A FAMILY miraculously walked away from a horror crash in Stanway, after which one driver fled the scene.

The collision happened on the Northbound A12 when a blue BMW 318 and a blue

VW Polo struck each other after 11pm on Saturday.

A couple and their two young children were injured after their Polo overturned.

The BMW driver, who fled the scene leaving his car with smoke pouring from under the bonnet, is now being sought by police.

Anyone with information in connection with this crash is urged to contact investigating officers at Stanway Road Policing Unit on 101.
