A COMMUNITY is jumping for joy after receiving £2million to fix the worst road in Colchester.

For decades residents have complained about Berechurch Road.

Countless claims for car damage have been submitted and a five-year campaign was launched to get changes.

Now Jackson Civil Engineering has been chosen to fix the road known locally as having more potholes than level tarmac.

Campaigner and councillor Dave Harris said: “I am jumping for joy. I have been doing a little jog.

“This is a momentous decision."
