A MAN is due to appear in court today charged with committing motoring offences on the A12 at Colchester.

Kevin Holt, 32, of Erith, in Kent, was arrested on Saturday after police received reports of a Ford Focus being driven dangerously on the southbound carriageway near the town.

The car was found at a petrol station at Rivenhall about 1.20pm, where the driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

Mr Holt is also charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and having no test certificate.

He will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
