Colchester United Community Sports Trust mystery closure
A MUCH-LOVED sports charity has closed due to a lack of funding.
The Colchester United Community Sports Trust (CUCST) suspended its services and laid off all 38 members of staff on Monday.
Bosses blamed the recession and not being able to attract new funding.
Staff were sent home from its base at Shrub End Community and Sports Centre after a private meeting with bosses at 9am.
