HOSPICES providing end of life and palliative care for north Essex residents have received grants totalling more than £400,000.
The money has been allocated as part of £60 million of Government funding for hospices across the country.
A total of 19 centres in the East of England have benefited including St Helena Hospice in Colchester and Tendring and the Little Havens Children’s Hospice.
The money will be used to improve the care environment for patients and their families as well as providing improved care to patients in their own homes.
St Helena Hospice is to use part of its £124,000 grant to upgrade its IT system which will allow staff to instantaneously access and update patient records.
