BREATHALYSERS are being handed out to young people in north east Essex to raise awareness about the dangers of drink-driving.

Anglian Community Enterprise’s Frisky or Risky team have started visiting pubs and clubs to hand out breath alcohol detectors. They can be used the morning after the night out to test if someone still has alcohol left in their body.

Jayne Overett said: “The breath alcohol detectors are not designed to tell you if you are above or below the legal limit – they indicate, by changing colour when you blow into them, if there is alcohol in your body.”
