COMMUNITY groups and organisations helping victims of crime have three weeks left to apply for a share of half a million pounds of funding.
Nick Alston, police and crime commissioner for Essex, managed to secure an additional £500,000 for community projects.
The new initiative fund, which now tops £2million, is to help groups who support victims, help reduce domestic violence and tackle re-offending.
Organisations which help with the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse or mental health issues for example.
About £1.5million has already been assigned and decisions on what to do with the remainder are due next month.
Any organisation that is interested should contact Pamela Standley, operating manager on 01245 291609 or email Pamela.Standley@essex.pnn.police.uk.
Completed applications must be returned by May 10.
