A CYCLIST was punched in the chest in a roadside assault in Clacton.
The driver of a grey new-shaped Vauxhall Astra got out of the car close to Ladbrokes on Old Road and punched the cyclist shortly after 6pm on Wednesday.
Investigating officer PC Keith Rowland said: "During the incident the cyclist was chased around the car which would have caught the attention of passers-by.
"At this stage, we’re not sure what sparked this incident.”
The cyclist, 24 and from the area, did not require any medical treatment.
