COLCHESTER United owner Robbie Cowling has set off on the final 320 mile leg of a bumper charity mission.
The monster effort is in memory of U’s supporter Emily Begg, who died aged 14 following a battle with leukaemia.
Before the 2012/13 season started, Mr Cowling agreed to cycle to the first and last away games. The fixture list threw up two of the toughest challenges - Carlisle and Preston.
Mr Cowling cycled to Preston on the opening day of the season and has run from his home to the Weston Homes Community Stadium for each home fixture.
On Tuesday morning he set out from Florence Park, the club’s Tiptree training base, on the first leg of the four day journey to Carlisle.
Mr Cowling was joined by Emily’s father Stuart and a support team of cyclists for the final push to raise cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
