DIVERS are continuing to search the River Colne for the weapon used to murder musician Thomas Brittain.
Thomas Brittain, 26, of Rotary Way, in Colchester, was stabbed to death at a flat in Charles House, off St Peter’s Street, in the early hours of March 9.
He died at the scene and a post-mortem examination later revealed Mr Brittain died from a stab wound to the chest.
The divers, from Sussex Police, were searching the stretch of river from Middleborough to Middle Mill, near to Castle Park.
Simon Lofting, of Essex Police Marine Unit, who is leading the marine investigation, said: "It's a difficult, task.
"There are a lot things in here but the Sussex divers have a very good success rate.
"Unfortunately, it is just like searching for a needle in a hay stack."
