A MAN is due to appear in court after having been charged with dangerous driving following a police pursuit in north east Essex.
Road policing officers had followed a vehicle through Colchester at 3:30am on Tuesday, April 23 after its occupants were seen to be acting suspiciously in Queen Street.
The car was driven along various roads before officers forcibly stopped it using a Stinger device around 30 minutes later on the A12 at Hatfield Peverel.
Two men were arrested.
A 29-year-old man from Colchester was subsequently released without charge, but a 32-year-old man from Witham was charged with one count of dangerous driving and one count of failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.
He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Colchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 15.
