BOSSES at Colchester Council raised more than £600 by serving a tasty brunch to their staff.
Chief executive Adrian Pritchard and his senior managers fired up the barbecue at headquarters Rowan House and handed out bacon rolls, sausage rolls and vegetarian options in return for donations to the Mayor’s charities.
With the help of a cake sale and a raffle where the senior management donated all the prizes, more than £600 was raised.
This year Mayor Christopher Arnold is supporting ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Headway Essex, Colne Valley Youth Orchestra, Grassroots and Girlguiding Essex North East.
Mr Arnold said: “I know how hard the council’s senior management team work, so I really appreciate them giving up so much of their own time to support the Mayor’s charities.”
