STUDENTS are joining forces to break down the barriers of discrimination and prejudice.
A group of youngsters from Market Field School in Elmstead Market, Colchester Academy, Broomgrove Junior School in Wivenhoe, Hazelmere Junior School in Colchester and Elmstead Primary School have formed a multi-school council.
Top of the agenda is to educate children about disabilities and learning difficulties.
The youngsters on the council - who are aged from ten to 16, want to hold a special fair or community day involving schools from across the Colchester borough and representatives from the community.
