INTREPID members of a Colchester Rotary club are making an assault on Snowdon to raise funds to help disaster-struck communities across the world.
About 20 members from the Rotary Club of Colchester Centurion will tackle the Welsh peak in June.
They are collecting money for Shelterbox - an organisation which packs lifesaving equipment for communities affected by disasters such as an earthquake or tsunami.
The boxes, which cost £600 each, include a tent, cooking facilities, water purification equipment and other essential items.
The fundraisers hoped to raise more than £5,000 from their efforts.
